Nyah Gantt is 13 years old.  She began dance at the age of 2 and began competing at the age of five.  She is excited to be competing with Charlotte Performing Arts Academy Dance Company for the second year.  Nyah is an 8th grade student at Charlotte Performing Arts Academy where she majors in Dance and Musical Theatre.  Her dreams are to become a professional dancer and to be on Broadway.  In 2014, she made her professional theatre debut in Billy Elliot The Musical, as ballet girl Julie Hope, for NC Theatre.   She also has community theatre, television, and film credits to include Madea’s Witness Protection and Prisoners.  In 2015 she attended the  summer intensive at Joffrey School of Ballet in NYC.  In 2016, she attended the summer intensive at Dance Theatre of Harlem.

She has won numerous awards and scholarships in dance to include Most Talented for Miss Petite Dance of North Carolina.  In her spare time, Nyah enjoys acting and swimming in addition to dance.
