The Charlotte Performing Arts Academy School of Music offers private, one-on-one lessons to students wishing to have a more individualized approach to learning. Students progress faster with private lessons, but the expectations are also higher. Students learn all important aspects of chosen instrument such as chords, theory, improvisation along with music history and appreciation. They participate in recitals, learn how to play their favorite pieces, and of course, have a lot of fun in the process. The goal with every student is to give them the ability to read, understand and appreciate music.
Students who are taking private lessons must be able to commit to regular practice. Students are required to participate in a year end recital as well as performances throughout the year. Performances are geared towards students of all levels, including beginners, but students must practice regularly in order to be prepared. Private lessons are best for students in any level of study, providing they can make the proper time commitment to practicing.
The Charlotte Performing Arts Academy School of Music offers a wide spectrum of vocal lessons suitable for singers of all ages and experience levels. Our voice and singing program emphasizes the development of proper vocal technique to protect the voice, improve sound production and gain confidence for personal enjoyment or public performances. During the 30 minute private lesson, students will learn basic posture, breathing, and diction. Special emphasis will be placed on basic stage etiquette, poise, and stage presence in an informal atmosphere free of pressure.
It is highly encouraged that all voice students take piano lessons as well. Learning the piano can aid in a singers ability to create proper intonation, and can help voice students learn to read music at a quicker rate. All Charlotte Performing Arts Academy School of Music voice instructors are also well trained pianist. Students can take one-hour lessons with the same instructor, focusing part of the lesson on voice and the other part on piano.
The Charlotte Performing Arts Academy Children's Choir provides an opportunity for young people ages 6 to 12 to learn, grow, and excel through quality instruction and experiences that emphasize the development of musical skills and understanding. In a one hour class, the children will not only master the art of singing as an individual and with the group, but they will learn performance techniques that will foster personal expression, creativity and social growth.

Hi Ladies,
I am so excited about our first trip of the dance season. We have secured the charter bus for October 21-23, 2011 for our trip to Nashville, TN for the Monsters of Hip Hop Dance Convention. For those of you who have never experienced Monsters, I have included the link to their website for your viewing pleasures. The total cost of the bus is $2700.00. This is a 30 passenger bus. With members of the dance company and their moms, that's 24 people. If we get 30 people, the total cost per person would be $90. Let's try to get to 30 people. :-) Per our conversation at our first company meeting, everyone was interested in going, so that only leaves 6 seats. Please let me know ASAP if there is anyone else you would like to take this trip with us.
We are required to pay a deposit by August 25th. Please bring a $90 deposit to dance on Wednesday. If you have any questions, please let me know.
In addition, I would recommend you go ahead and make your reservations. I have included the hotel information below.
Thanks,
Keva

Hi everyone! We have had a successful first week of rehearsals for all dances. You guys are going to be so amazed, because our dances are going to be HOT! Please remind your children to practice. Their dances won't improve if they don't, so please stay on them.
Monsters of Hip Hop is coming up, so we will need the payments in soon to be able to receive a discount. The girls will be split up into two levels - Junior and Intermediate. The Intermediate workshop is a full day workshop and it's more advanced than the Junior level, therefore it costs more. The Junior workshop is two half days, so it costs less. I've already split them into two levels. If you would like to change your child from the Junior to the Intermediate, you are more than welcome to do so. Just know, you will pay the additional fee. The Payments will be due on September 5th.
